How Does Rod & Panel Work?

Rod & Panel is a virtual interior design service. Our designers help you choose the perfect fabrics for your room, and then you order beautiful, custom finished products using our easy online ordering system.

1. Fill out a design profile for each room you’d like help with

Begin by filling out a Design Profile for each room you’re working on. This helps us understand your style, existing décor and budget. It will only take a few minutes to complete each room profile.

2. Pay your design fee

After you pay your design fee, we will send you a custom Swatch Kit filled with fabric samples chosen just for your room(s), along with information on drapery hardware and other custom accessories available through Rod & Panel.

3. Receive your swatch kit

Check out the swatches in the safety and privacy of your home, on your schedule. See how they look with your lighting and current décor. In the unlikely event that none of the fabrics are perfect for your space, we’ll send out an additional Swatch Kit at no charge.

4. Place your order

Decide what you’d like to order. Select the fabric, drapery style, hardware and other accessories that fit your style perfectly. Or you can just order the fabric from us by the yard. All of the design fees you paid will be deducted from your order total.


How is Rod & Panel different than shopping online or in a retail store for fabrics and draperies?

There are lots of websites where you can order custom draperies or fabric by the yard, but they require you to choose the fabrics. We take the guesswork out of getting beautiful custom products by helping you select the right fabrics for your room. We use our expertise to send you only fabrics that will work beautifully in your space. No more clicking through endless thumbnails, and no appointment necessary!


Do you have a mobile app?

We do not have a mobile app, however, our website was created and optimized for viewing on a mobile device.


How much does it cost?

To get your custom Swatch Kit, we charge $75 for the first room and $25 for each additional room. This covers the designer’s time to select your fabrics (typically 2-3 hours per room). For example, if you would like hand-picked samples for 3 rooms, all purchased at the same time, the cost would be $125 ($75 for the 1st room and $25 each for rooms 2 and 3). If you’d like a consultation on one room today and another room in a few months, each room will cost you $75. All design fees you pay will be credited against your order.


 When will my credit card be charged?

As soon as you select to purchase your Swatch Kit, you will be prompted to make a payment via PayPal. For each Swatch Kit, a $75 fee will be charged for the first room and $25 for each additional room profile in the same box. The Swatch Kit fee will be credited toward anything you purchase in that shipment.

When you place your order for finished products or fabric by the yard, we will send the final invoice via PayPal to be paid in full before we start production on your order.


How long does it take to get my Swatch Kit once ordered?

Typically we will mail your Swatch Kit within 7 to 10 business days. Sometimes this can take a little bit longer if you have requested several rooms or some less common fabric types. Remember, this is a custom service so there will be an actual designer handpicking fabrics for you. We will send you an email as soon as your Swatch Kit ships, so you will know exactly when to expect it.


What products does Rod & Panel offer?

Rod & Panel currently offers decorative drapery panels, fully functional drapes, drapery hardware, accent pillows, and fabric by the yard. However, we can also offer valances, traversing rods, Roman shades, and other hard window treatments. If you are interested in any of these other products, please contact us.


Can I purchase a gift card?

At this time, we do not offer gift cards.
